Talk about the pot calling the kettle black...

Reiterating the unproven assertion that Democrats are bandying about these days to shape perceptions about the reality---"98% of Catholic women in childbearing age have used contraception"---U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has claimed that the Catholic Church not only has failed to enforce its teaching on contraception but is also making the astounding claim that the Church wants the federal government to enforce that teaching on behalf of the Church. (The relevant statements begin at 42:40.)

Ms. Pelosi made these claims at a Texas A&M University event after she was asked about the conflict between U.S. Catholic bishops and the Obama administration as a result of the Sebelius regulations that will require all U.S. healthcare plans to cover sterilizations, artificial contraceptives, and abortifacients.

Despite the fact that the Sebelius regulations would compel Catholic institutions and individuals not only to comply with the regulations but also to act against their consciences and the teachings of their faith when doing so, Ms. Pelosi said:
Whatever my personal beliefs or my personal upbringing are on this subject, everyone has their own responsibility in terms of the size and the rest of their family. So, I think this should be removed from the debate.  It's inflammatory---misrepresentations are made.

"Inflammatory"?

"Misrepresentations are made"?

That coming from Ms. Pelosi?

What possibly can The Motley Monk add?

  1. The following can be added:

Pelosi was 2 heartbeats away from the Oval Office...

The only thing worse.... and even more inconceivable is - Joe Biden is 1 heartbeat away!
