Of course, the media elite is attempting to convice people that Santorum was implying that the President is not a Christian.

| Presidential candidate Rick Santorum: A Nazi? A Fascist? Or could it be worse? |
Attracting The Motley Monk's attention, in particular, was Bob Scheifer's interview of Santorum on Sunday's "Face The Nation." Perhaps feigning incredulity, Scheifer asked Santorum "What in the world were you talking about?"
The video of the interview cannot be embedded, but is available at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWLW_xtFH-U&feature=player_detailpage
Listen carefully to the full interview. It ends up that Santorum is stating something The Motley Monk has been saying all along: Environmentalism, as it is practice by those on the political left, is an ideology, that is, a belief system. It is based not on science but on faith.
According to Santorum, environmentalism is wrong because it is rooted secularism not the Bible:
We're not here to serve the earth, the earth is not the objective, man is the objective. I think a lot of radical environmentalists have it upside down.
The ideology of environmentalism is based on very questionable science---sort of like alchemy was---and preys on feelings (pardon the pun!) rather than sober and rational analysis of the evidence. The scandal associated with the revision of numerous findings by so-called "eminent environmental scientists" provides enough evidence to wonder, as Sheifer asked Santorum, "What in the world were you talking about?"
In addition, as The Motley Monk has noted in several previous posts, just because a person does not believe in environmentalism or agree with its tenets and practice, that does not mean this person is anti-environment. Yet, that's exactly how the environmentalists on the political left attack those who oppose their fideistic belief system. Sound environmentalism, The Motley Monk argues, would be rooted in the Bible, namely, in God's command in the Book of Genesis that humans rule and care for creation. It would begin with God not gaia and end with humanity not polar bears.

The remaining content of the "Face The Nation" interview---topics including abortion, partial birth abortion, public schooling and the President's positions on these topics---evidence a very principled, albeit conservative candidate, one who is not easily deflected by appeals to emotions, sob stories, or demographically selected people being used as props behind a teleprompter and podium.
Whether voters will like the principles Rick Santorum is advocating on the political hustings or not, the "Face The Nation" interview indicates that Rick Santorum is an effective debater, one who presents countercultural notions rooted in sound theology, namely, the faith of the Roman Catholic Church.
Let the discussion begin...

I wonder if Bob Scheifer, or any other puppet in the mainstream media, ever asked a favored member of the liberal left "what in the world were you talking about..." on any half-baked idea they have brought forth over the years.
ReplyDeleteKatie Couric wouldn't have had the nerve to ask a "genius" like Pelosi any of the questions she asked Palin. She would have never asked Pelosi 'what in the world were you thinking...' when Pelosi said Obamacare had to be passed before it was read.
The mainstream nailed McCain over his inability to list his homes but no one had the nerve to ask how Obama and his convicted felon friend, Tony Rezko "bought' the Obama house in Chicago,
There were a lot of questions about how much money Cindy McCain earned from her family beer distributorships and family assets but no one had the nerve to ask the first lady how she landed a $300k a year job at the University of Chicago Hospital.
On top of that, no one would have dared to ask 'what in the world were you thinking about....' when she took a $300k a year job, working for an entity that was benefiting from legislation being voted on by her husband.
No one had the nerve to ask the U of C Hospital, 'what in the world were you thinking..' by spending $300k for a useless job, that was never filled after the first lady left, when the Hospital was claiming financial hardship.
Did any mainstream news puppet ask Obama 'what in the world where you thinking...' when he said the US was country with a long and proud history of Islam or that it is OK to rip babies from their mothers, in the final tri-mester?
It's ironic that Scheifer has no problem working with phonies and spreading phoney 'convenient truths' when it fits 'The Narrative"
The press will continue to attack, I mean question, Mitt, Newt, Ron Paul, Cain, Santorum, Bachman, etc in hopes that no one decides to ask the current inhabitant of the White House ANY questions on what he thinks, says or has done..
One generation passes away, and another generation comes; But the earth abides forever. Ecclesiates 1,4 .
ReplyDeleteBut not the way we're spending it up!
God also commanded Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. There are now some seven BILLION people here on earth. Mission accomplished. - Liberal Pilgrim
and the world can hold many more people, feed them and let them live as God's children... Of course, leftists who worship at the alter of environmentalism don't want to talk about what can be done to keep the earth safe and clean.
ReplyDeleteThey only want to fabricate science, manipulate the masses with propaganda and indoctrinate as many as possible. To this group of 'intelligentsia' the only solution is more government control, more taxes and more fear.
By the time this administration is done, surplus population won't be an issue. With the weak, convoluted 'foreign policy' in place, a lot of people are going to die thanks to Iran, China and the Neville Chamberlain of our generation on Pennsylvania Ave.
Then, this administration+ will have accomplished its mission to change America, while hoping the lemmings will continue to support their failed policies.
Actually, Liberal Pilgram, The Motley Monk is wondering whether you are slugging down the political left's "Kool Aid"?
ReplyDeleteOne of the main "talking points" those on the political left have emphasized for at least the past five decades is that the globe is becoming overpopulated. In turn, proponents of this view have introduced all sorts of "zero population growth" initiatives through their beloved United Nations. The most recent iteration is called "global population sustainability." And their favorite tool to that end? Artificial means of birth control and abortion, all exported under the disguise of "women's human rights."
The Motley Monk would hope that you see through this so-called "caring" approach for what it is. namely, a form of eugenics. Also, are you aware, Liberal Pilgrim of the studies undertaken which have investigated the question about whether planet Earth is overpopulated? Your argument seems to dismiss those studies in favor of the UN's anti-life agenda.
